Footy and Opera in Oman

Stepping out of Muscat’s Royal Opera House we were greeted by a cacophony of car horns, celebrating Oman’s victory over Jordan. The win moves them ever so slightly closer to the World Cup in Brazil 2014.

Building in Oman wins award at World Architecture Festival

They have a quote on their website “WAF (World Architecture Festival) is the best in terms of breadth and depth of architects. Mostly you don’t get a meeting of world architects, but here you do. It’s the number one.”

Red Bull Diving comes to Oman

The Red Bull diving competition has arrived into Oman and as Stacey from Red Bull had kindly organised a VIP pass so I could watch up close, I made my way into Wadi Shab where its being held.

Traditional Weaving in Oman

We enjoyed a visit to one of Oman’s few traditional pit loom weavers. Using a mixture of locally made and foreign manufactured equipment they create lengths of cloth for garments worn in Oman.

Here the heddles are locally made from date palm & reed and imported steel.
